What's new

Everything we've added and improved, newest first.

v2.10.0

Your plan, in writing Improved

  • A proper welcome when you upgrade. Subscribing now sends a confirmation with everything in one place — your plan, how it's billed, the amount and the date it renews — and a PDF receipt attached for your records. Each renewal sends a fresh receipt too. Subscribed in the iPhone or Mac app? You get the same welcome, with a PDF confirming what your App Store purchase unlocked.
  • A heads-up before you're billed. Three days before your plan renews, an email tells you the date and how it will be charged — or, if you've cancelled, the day it ends, so nothing catches you by surprise.
  • Your dates at a glance. The Plan & billing page now shows when you started your plan, how it's billed, and exactly when it renews or ends, with a countdown.
  • Emails, redesigned again. A cleaner card, a clearer button, tidy summary tables, and proper dark mode.
v2.9.0

App Store subscriptions show up everywhere, and prettier emails Improved

  • Subscribe in the app, see it on the website — always. The Plan & billing page says "Billed through the App Store" with the renewal (or end) date. And it fixes itself: if the website ever missed a subscription you bought in the app, just open the app (or tap Restore purchases) and your plan catches up.
  • Every email we send got a redesign: a clean card, a proper button, a preview line in your inbox, and real dark-mode support.
v2.9.1

Subscriptions stay with your account Improved

  • Your App Store subscription belongs to the account you bought it on. It can't be borrowed by another account here — if you try Restore purchases while signed in to a different account, the app tells you which account the subscription belongs to (shown partly hidden, like ja…@example.com) so you can sign in to the right one.
  • The billing page tells you more about a plan bought through Apple.
v2.8.0

Plays in more places, and files you can rename New

  • File links play in more places. Paste a video or audio link into Mastodon, Slack, X, WordPress, Notion and many more, and it plays right there — on top of Discord, Telegram and iMessage from 2.7. (Signal and WhatsApp always show a still preview; the file plays one tap away.)
  • Rename a file whenever you like. The name doesn't have to be right at upload any more: rename from the file's link page or the Uploads list — or PATCH /api/v1/uploads/{id} — and the page title, the chat previews and the download name all follow. The short link never changes.
v2.5.0

Personal links are personal, and domains can move house New

  • Personal links stay personal. The team view now shows exactly what belongs to the team: links on team-shared domains, and links in team folders. Everything else is yours alone — nobody on the team sees it, the owner included, and that goes for team stats and exports too. Pick a team domain on the link form and a small note tells you the link will be shared.
  • Hand a domain to another account. On the Domains page, Hand over… offers a domain to another account by email. They have 7 days to accept; links keep working the whole time. You choose whether your own links on the domain go with it, click history included.
v2.5.1

The whole short link, always Improved

  • Short links never get cut off any more. With a longer domain, link lists used to shorten links.yourbrand.com/spring to links.yourbra… — on the website, in the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps, on Android and in the browser extension. The short link is the thing you made; now it always shows whole.
  • The domain picker too. On phones, the link form's domain list clipped longer domains. It now gets its own full-width row, so the whole domain reads before you pick.
v2.6.0

Fit and finish Improved

A quality pass over the whole site — every page, signed in and out, phone and desktop, light and dark:

  • Nothing scrolls sideways on a phone any more. The free QR tool and the import page's source switch could push the page wider than the screen; both now wrap neatly.
  • Keyboard users get a visible ring on every button, link, tab and row — and it only appears for the keyboard, never on taps.
  • Small things that make it feel right: linked sections no longer hide under the header; pages cross-fade as you move between them; taps on a phone feel instant; click counts don't jiggle as they tick up; buttons carry a touch more depth; dialogs blur what's behind them. All of it respects "reduce motion".
v2.7.0

Videos play right in the chat New

Share a file link in Discord, Slack, iMessage or anywhere that unfurls links, and it now shows a real preview instead of a plain text card:

  • Videos play inline. Paste a clip into Discord and it plays right there, no download. Works for .mp4, .mov, .webm and .ogv.
  • PDFs show their first page, so people can see what they're opening.
  • Everything else gets a proper card with the file's name, type and size.
  • Previews respect protection. A password-protected or expired link shows nothing: the preview is locked exactly like the file itself.
  • The file page itself got a polish: videos open on a preview frame, the audio player sits in a proper card, and PDFs center correctly on phones.
v2.4.0

Subscribe in the apps, and move in from Shlink New

  • Subscribe right in the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps. Pick a plan, pay with your Apple Account, done — your plan is live everywhere, website included. Manage or cancel it in your Apple subscriptions like any other app.
  • One-click import from Shlink. Bring your links over from a Shlink installation with its address and an API key — back-halves, titles, tags, dates and visit totals included.
v2.1.1

Sign in on phones Improved

  • Sign in from a phone. On small screens the website's menu didn't offer Sign in. It now ends with Sign in and Sign up free (or Open dashboard when you're signed in).
v2.2.0

Share your stats, route by the clock, SSO and more New

  • Shareable stats pages. Give a link — or all your links together — a secret read-only address and send it to a client: live clicks, visitors and where they came from, no account needed. Turn it off and the address stops working instantly.
  • Routing by the clock. A link can go different places by time and day — lunch menu 11–3, dinner menu after, weekend page on weekends — in the timezone you pick.
  • Click milestones. The first time a link passes 100, 1,000, 10,000 or more clicks, you get a little cheer by email.
  • QR codes in bulk. Tick links and press QR codes: a zip with each code as SVG and PNG, in its saved design.
  • Clean back-halves. Rude words are kept out of short links on shared domains. Your own branded domains are never filtered.
  • Company sign-in (SSO). Sign in through Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace and other company sign-in providers.
  • Teams: the owner picks the domains. Each domain can be shared with the team or kept personal.
v2.3.0

Move in from anywhere, and Shared everywhere New

This release is about getting in and taking Share with you:

  • Three more one-click importers. Move your links in from Short.io, TinyURL or YOURLS with just an API key — next to Bitly, Rebrandly and CSV. Clicks come along where the source shares them.
  • Share for Android. The full app — shorten and edit links, analytics with charts, QR codes, shareable stats pages, file uploads, and "Share → Share" from any app.
  • A browser extension. Shorten the page you're on (or any link you right-click) from Chrome, Edge or Firefox — the short link lands on your clipboard.
  • The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps caught up: time-of-day rules on a link, and sharing a link's stats page from its menu.
v2.1.0

Sign up, Sign in with Apple and account deletion in the apps New

The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps grew up around accounts:

  • Create an account in the app — name, email, password, done.
  • Sign in with Apple for new and existing accounts alike.
  • Forgot password? The apps can email you a reset link.
  • Delete your account from the bottom of the Account tab, with a clear list of what goes.
v2.0.0

Conversions, imports, Slack and a lot more New

The biggest update yet.

  • Conversion tracking. Add one line of script to your site and see sign-ups, sales and revenue next to clicks for every link and campaign.
  • Move from Bitly or Rebrandly in one click. Your links keep their back-halves and their click counts come with them.
  • More QR codes. Wi-Fi, contact cards, email, text message, map location and app download codes, with "Scan me" frames.
  • Slack. Type /shorten in any channel. There's a proper Zapier app too.
  • Link templates. Save UTM presets and settings you use a lot, and start new links from them.
  • Peek before you click. Add a + to the end of any short link to see where it goes.
  • Security. See every browser you're signed in on and sign them out, give API keys only the permissions they need, and teams can require two-factor sign-in. There's a new free viewer role for people who only need to see stats.
  • Help center, changelog and status page. You're reading one of them.
  • In your language. Share now speaks Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.
v1.9.0

Safer sign-ups, faster links and better stats New

  • Live view: watch clicks arrive minute by minute.
  • Compare any period with the one before, and download a PDF or spreadsheet report.
  • Campaign and UTM source breakdowns.
  • Broken-link alerts: we check your links' destinations every day and email you if one stops working.
  • Sign in with Google, Apple or a passkey.
  • Bio pages can collect email sign-ups and take payments, and every button has its own stats.
  • Branded domains can show their own front page and "not found" page.
  • Download everything in your account as one ZIP file.
  • Refer a friend and you both get credit.
v1.8.0

Try a paid plan free for a month Improved

New accounts can try a paid plan free for their first month. No charge until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before.

v1.7.1

A cleaner developers page Fixed

The API documentation was rebuilt: easier to read on phones, with code examples you can copy in one click.

v1.7.0

Bio pages, redesigned Improved

Link-in-bio pages got a new look: themes, button styles, fonts, a profile picture and social icons. What you see in the editor is exactly what visitors see.
